Making beautiful websites easy

I've been blessed to have several interesting careers and travelled around Australia and the world. After long and successful stints in management and business development with federal government agencies and large businesses both private and public, I left all that behind in 2010 to pursue my own enterprises and have been a small business owner/operator for the last decade.

Mathematics and physics were my university subjects of choice. These years of study honed the problem solving and analytical skills I've used all through my working life. My work experience encompasses national and international business development, promotion and site location services, blue chip client relationship management, large scale customer service operations, business modelling, corporate financial planning and management. From there I branched into performance coaching and mentoring, technical development and services in the fields of aerodynamics, performance coaching, applied physiology, athletic performance models and software and of course, website design.

Outside of work I love the sport of cycling and was once a competitive racing cyclist on both the track and road. Following a training accident in 2007, which resulted in a lower leg amputation, I returned to competitive cycling and performed just as well as I ever had, setting state and national records in able-bodied competition as well as winning medals at national and international para-cycling competitions.

In early-2016 my partner Kath and I chose to leave behind the development monster known as Sydney and begin a gentler life in Bellingen.

Although I’m a wearer of many hats, my first love is words. On the back of a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing & Linguistics, I have worked in the communication industry for more than 20 years. I freelanced as a copywriter, editor and journalist for many of those years before founding ethical brand agency, Active Voice. Its talented team of writers, communication strategists, designers and techs did some wonderful work creating values-led communication (including websites) for small businesses, NGOs, government departments and charities.
Since then, I’ve been hat juggling (to mix a metaphor). A Masters degree in Applied Social Science skilled me up to support people through difficult times and processes. It also taught me again and again, the often under-valued art of listening.
I’ve always kept up some freelance writing and editing – I wrote a weekly relationships column for four years, a chapter about time management for a business book and edited a bunch of psychology and business books.
I’m delighted to be part of Bello Square and to harness the power of well-chosen words to make our clients’ websites cut through and shine.

I'm two year old Cavoodle who lets Kath and Alex stay in my home. I'm top dog of the well being program at Bello Square.

I love giving kisses to anyone and waggling my tail for visitors is one of favourite pastimes. Ignore me at your own peril. Chasing anything that moves is lot's of fun too. I often act as site foreman for the tradesmen working on my home renovations and really enjoy meeting and playing with other dogs and humans.

The picture is me as a baby - I'm all grown up now but am just as cute.
